A 10-year-old boy was flown to Riley Hospital for Children Saturday evening after being struck by a vehicle in Johnson County.
Johnson County Sheriff's deputies were called around 6 p.m. to the intersection of 700 East and Division Road on the report of a suspicious
vehicle.
When deputies arrived, they found the boy who had been struck laying in the intersection, the sheriff's office said in a press release.
Deputies say a vehicle, driven by a 26-year-old woman from Shelbyville, was traveling southbound on 700 East when she struck the boy.
The woman saw a truck on the side of the road and struck the boy, who crossed the road from behind the truck, as she was passing the truck. She stopped at the scene, according to a crash report.
Investigators said in the crash report the woman did not appear to be intoxicated.
The area was dark and did not have street lights at the time of the crash.
The boy is in stable condition.
