JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- A lap and a forever home is a terrible thing to waste -- and that is why the Johnson County Animal Shelter is bringing back "Home for the Holidays" this December.
Throughout the month of December, the shelter will waive all adoption fees. Their goal is to have an empty shelter by Christmas.
Michael Delp with Johnson County Animal Control said he typically goes to the shelter on Christmas Day to spend some time with the animals so they don't have to spend the holiday alone.
All people wanting to adopt must follow the application approval process.
This goal will also make room for other animals in need of care this winter.
The Johnson County Animal Shelter is located off Graham Road in Franklin.
You can call the shelter at (317) 736-3924 or come in for visit if you are interested in adopting a new family member.
Correction: A previous version of this story erroneously listed the location as the Johnson County Humane Society. We regret the error.
