JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- A 59-year-old man was killed in a multi-vehicle accident involving a semi in Johnson County Friday afternoon.
Johnson County Deputy Coroner David Lutz said they were called to the scene at SR 37 and Fairview Road around 2:30 p.m. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says James Moran was slowing for traffic at the intersection of State Road 37 and Fairview Road when he was struck behind by a semi-truck. The force of the crash pushed Moran's vehicle off the roadway, causing it to roll several times before hitting a light pole.
The semi then collided with two other vehicles. It is unclear if either of those drivers was injured.
The driver of the semi, Michael Burke, voluntarily submitted to a blood test, according to the sheriff's office.
The accident remains under investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
