JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspicious man they say attempted to pick up two young girls who were walking home from school on Friday. Deputies spoke to a father who says his 12-year-old daughter and her friend were approached by an unknown man on Stones Crossing Road while they were walking home from school.

The girls said they were walking home from school on the sidewalk near Forest Hills when the man slowed down and asked if they needed a ride. The girls said they crossed the road and quickly walked away while the man drove away east on Stones Crossing Road.

Both girls told the deputy that the man was a light skin black male with no facial hair or other identifying marks. He was driving an older model large SUV that was either brown or gray in color.

Both girls were able to make it home safely.

If you have any information about this man or know of a similar suspicious incident contact the Johnson County Sheriff's Office tip line at 317-346-4654.
