JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- A local brewer is recalling a special edition beer due to problem with the packaging.
Taxman Brewing Company is located in downtown Bargersville and also has a location in Fortville. They specialize in Belgian-styled brews.
According to a post on their Facebook page, The Taxman Brewing Co. Vintage 2017 Barrel-Aged Deduction with the gold cap is over carbonating due to secondary fermentation in the bottle.
This bottle holds 22 ounces of the barrel-aged product.
This issue is causing bottles to gush when opened and the company worries the bottle could potentially break due to excessive pressure and build-up inside the bottle.
They say on Facebook that the beer itself is fine and there is no impact on flavor.
Taxman is asking anyone who might have purchased that product to check for the blue "Vintage 2017" mark printed on the right side of the label, as well as the gold cap.
If you have one of these bottles, you can bring it to the brewery in Bargersville or Fortville for a full refund.
"We take the quality of our product very seriously and sincerely apologize for this inconvience," said the Taxman Team in a statement. "This issue was identified prior to widespread distribution and we believe that there are less than 200 impacted bottles currently in circulation."
For any customers who may have purchased this product and do not live near one of their two locations, you can email beer@taxmanbrewing.com and their team will coordinate your refund.
