Kokomo officers run to D.C. to honor fallen officers during National Police Week

KOKOMO — Three officers with the Kokomo Police Department are running a long way to honor the officers killed in the line of duty during National Police Week.

Sgt. Bruce Rood, Officer Troy Hintz and Deputy EZ Zimmerman will run from Philadelphia to Washington D.C. for the National Peace Officers Memorial Service, where five Indiana law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in 2018 will be honored, including Boone County Deputy Jacob Pickett and Terre Haute Police officer Rob Pitts.

Several other departments from Indiana are also making the trip to D.C. including a group from Boone County to honor Deputy Pickett.
