INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis chef beat a nationally known name in a cooking competition Thursday night.
Steve Oakley, the owner of Oakley's Bistro on 86th Street, competed against celebrity chef Bobby Flay on the Food Network show, "Beat Bobby Flay."
Each chef had to cook Oakley's signature dish, a seafood corndog. The judges decided Oakley cooked a better seafood corndog than Flay.
"I think it's just like any other professional athlete where you're on the field and it's 4th and 1 and you need to perform," Oakley said a couple weeks before the competition.
His victory shines a light on Indy's food scene, which has received other national attention over the past couple years.
