ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Mounds Mall in Anderson, Indiana will close at the beginning of next month.
The mall will close April 1, but Mounds 10 Theater and Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care will remain open.
The Garfield's restaurant will close Thursday. A mall spokesperson said it hasn't been profitable for several years.
"This has been an extremely difficult decision and one we have not taken lightly," Braun Roosa of Mounds Mall said. "Any decision that directly impacts the lives of our employees and the employees of our tenants are always the toughest to make."
On Jan. 31, Carson's announced it was closing its Anderson location.

Roosa said the owners will be looking to repurpose the mall into something else.
The City of Anderson doesn't see the mall closing as a setback.
Last year, the Office of Economic Development recorded $444 million in investment and in the last two years more businesses have returned to the downtown area, totaling more than $15 million.
"It's not a setback. It's part of the inevitable journey forward as we look at how retail is going to make that complete circle and come back to the downtowns, come back to the cores of the communities, we're seeing that in Indianapolis, we're seeing that in Kokomo, we're seeing that in communities around the state and around the country. And that's what is happening here," Greg Winkler, Executive Director, Economic Development for the City of Anderson.
