EF1 tornado touches down in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY -- A confirmed EF1 tornado touched down in Madison County on Friday and caused damage in the area.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that the tornado, which lasted an estimated two minutes, touched down around 3:50 p.m.

The tornado destroyed a barn, flipped a storage shed on its side and caused tree damage.

At its peak, the tornado reached speeds of 100 mph and traveled a quarter-mile. 

No injuries were reported.
