Former Anderson police chief dies after hornet attack

ANDERSON – The former chief of the Anderson Police Department, Larry Crenshaw, died Sunday after a hornet attack.

According to a post by the Edgewood Police Department, Crenshaw was hunting Sunday and stirred up a hornet's nest. He was stung multiple times and suffered a heart attack due to the lack of oxygen.

Crenshaw served as chief from 2012-16 before moving to detective.
