ELWOOD, Ind. -- A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of his 1-year-old stepson.
Elwood Police Department officers were called to a home in the city last week for an unresponsive child. The 1-year-old boy was taken to Riley Hospital for children where he later died.
The child's identity has not been released.
The Madison County Coroner later determined that the toddler died from blunt force trauma.
Police say the toddler died a few days short of his second birthday.
His stepfather was arrested Thursday and booked into the Madison County Jail in Anderson. No other details about that arrest have been released.
The death remains under investigation by the Elwood Police Department and the Madison County Coroner.
