INDIANAPOLIS -- A man convicted of killing a Ben Davis High School student received 84 years in prison Friday.
William Gholston was found guilty last month of killing Ben Davis freshman Dominique Allen.

Her family gathered outside the courtroom after the sentence, still in shock about the savagery of the crime, and the lack of an apology from Gholston in court.
"Just to hear him say he was sorry. That he admitted it, instead of the smirking and the looks that he gave us. He showed no remorse. Like it was just another day, another walk in the park for him," Shenika Pointdexter said.
Allen's body was found dumped and badly burned on Indianapolis' west side in August 2014. Police say she had been choked to death.
"A person who treats another human being like a piece of trash has to be taken off the street. That was a big factor in working so hard on it," IMPD Homicide Detective Marcus Kennedy said.
Police said Gholston, a "career criminal," abducted Allen from his sister's porch.
He was charged with her murder after DNA evidence linked him to her body.
