FISHERS — Indiana Conservation Officers are looking for tips on a hit-and-run boat accident early Saturday morning on Geist Reservoir.

According to a release from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Randy Mathis, 66, Charlottesville, was anchored and fishing at 2:30 a.m. Saturday south of Geist Marina when another boat collided with his while moving faster than the 10 mph nighttime speed limit. The other boat left the scene and officers were unable to find it.

Mathis was thrown from his boat and suffered bumps and bruises and was taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures, DNR said. His boat sustained damage to its rear left side.
