INDIANAPOLIS -- The Marsh stores not purchased as part of the sale last week will close July 20, new court documents show.
All liquidation sales will end on that day, and the supermarkets will close their doors for good.
In early May, Marsh officials filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and said the remaining 44 locations could close if the company did not find a buyer.
In the last several months, many stores closed around central Indiana, which the company said was due to poor performance and increased competition.
The auction was for bidders who were considered qualified to operate assets of the company.
Marsh is also selling many items from its warehouse in Anderson, Indiana. That sale will end July 30.
Some of the things being sold from the warehouse are:
- Trailers
- Baler
- Forklifts
- Chicken warmers
- Frozen food case
- Grocery carts
- Rotisserie
Almost 20 vehicles are also being sold from the warehouse.
