1 dead in motorcycle vs. moped crash in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- One person was killed Wednesday evening in a crash involving a motorcycle and a moped in Bloomington, Indiana.

The crash happened at about 9 p.m., in the 3500 block of S. Rockport Road. 

Police say a man was driving his 2000 Honda motorcycle southbound on Rockport Road when he went left of center and collided head-on with a 2015 Yamaha moped.

The moped was being driven by Jessica Hamilton, 34. Another woman was a passenger on the moped. 

All three people involved were ejected by the force of the crash. Nobody involved was wearing a helmet, police say.

The man driving the motorcycle, Russell Bright, was taken to IU Health Bloomington in critical condition. Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene.
