BLOOMINGTON — The Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued a fine to a construction company after one of their workers was killed in April.
On April 25, 35-year-old construction worker William Brown of Bloomington was killed while working on a major renovation project at Swain Hall on the IU-Bloomington campus. A section of limestone that was being lifted above a doorway fell and hit Brown, killing him.
IOSHA conducted an investigation and found four safety violations at the construction site. As a result, IOSHA has fined Rock Solid Masonry of Bloomington $11,200.
