BLOOMINGTON — Police say foul play is not suspected in the death of a man found in a city park late Thursday morning.

The 51-year-old, whose name has not been released, was discovered just before noon in Seminary Park, on the southwest side of downtown. Efforts to revive the man at the scene were not successful.

According to police, investigators spoke to several people inside Seminary Park who said they had spoken with the man earlier in the morning and that he seemed fine.

Police were told that several people had tried to get the man homeless services the previous evening and had offered for him to stay with them overnight, but he refused and slept in the park. Officers had checked on the man twice earlier in the morning, but he refused any assistance.

Investigators found no signs of foul play or injuries to the man. His identity is not being released until relatives can be located and notified.
