INDIANAPOLIS -- Seven years after Lauren Spierer disappeared, her family is still hoping for that one piece of information that will bring their nightmare to a close.

To mark the day when their lives changed forever, the Spierer family shared a message thanking those who have stood by them and have continued to support them over the past several years.

"Going forward after June 3, 2011, has been our biggest challenge," the family shared on their official Facebook page.

Lauren Spierer was 20 years old on June 3, 2011, when she disappeared after a night partying with friends in Bloomington, Indiana. In the seven years since Spierer has never been found.

Lauren’s disappearance has been and continues to be the most heart wrenching experience of our lives. Going forward after June 3, 2011, has been our biggest challenge.

Seven years later, we continue our search for Lauren, for truth, for justice. Our sincerest of thanks to those who have stood by our sides since June 3, 2011 and who continue to do so. I remember writing a few short months after Lauren’s disappearance that I never thought I would see an October without answers. I never could have imagined we would still be searching for Lauren seven years later. I end this now as I start each morning, hoping today will be the day….

Loving you, Lauren, every second of every day.

TIMELINE | The Disappearance of Lauren Spierer

Despite a lack of updates in the case, Bloomington police have consistently said they do not consider it to be cold.

In November, Brown County Prosecutor Ted Adams said he believes Daniel Messel – the man convicted of killing another Indiana University student, Hannah Wilson – may be connected to Spierer’s disappearance. To date, Messel has never been charged in connection with the Spierer case.
