MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. – Items related to jails and correctional facilities aren’t the only thing crews and staff have their eye on this summer in Morgan County.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office says its jail crews have been busy with service projects across the county.

More recently, staff members from the jail helped the Daughters of the American Revolution in a restoration project at a local cemetery.

Crews assisted with cleaning up and fixing several old military headstones. At the same time, they learned more about the actual process of cleaning and restoring the headstones.

The sheriff’s office says jail staff members have helped this summer with the Mooresville American Legion, Martinsville First Methodist Church, Morgan County Parks Department, and have also cleaned up the Jimmy Nash City Park over the July 4 holiday.
