INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Donor Network is announcing a new weeklong camp for children of donor families. This is the first of its kind program for Hoosiers.
The camp is a way to support children as they experience grief for the loss of a loved one who died and became a donor.
Kellie Hanner, President and CEO of Indiana Donor Network, says that all too often, children are forgotten about during the mourning process. Through their camp, they will have access to a pediatric therapist and a community of peers who have experienced the same pain.
"Its an opportunity for kids to be with kids who are going through a very similar grief process, and its someone that maybe they can relate to and express some of those feelings that they have been having," Hanner said.
The Indiana Donor Network is hoping you can help make this camp free for the children who need it by donating to their Angel Fund.
