INDIANAPOLIS — Just three days after he was murdered Saturday in downtown Indianapolis, Chris Beaty is being remembered with a mural at the spot where he died.

Artist Andrea Townsend did the work. "Such a tragic reason you do a portrait mural of someone," she said. "But I have to say I was blown away by the support and positivity from those who came by."

Beaty, who was 38, was shot to death at Vermont Street and Talbot Street late-Saturday, part of a violent night downtown following a day of protests. There has not been an announced arrest.

Beaty was founder of Fresh Marketing, an events and consulting business, and he was operating partner at the Reveal Nightclub and Lounge.

In his earlier days, he played four seasons of football at Indiana University. Prior to that, Beaty was part of three Cathedral High School state football champions.
