INDIANAPOLIS — A new recycling drop-off location has opened on the northwest side of Indianapolis at the Pike Township Trustee's Office.
Before the site's opening, Indy's northwest side residents' nearest place to drop-off recycling was almost nine miles away at Broad Ripple Park.

The new recycling box is located on the north side of the Pike Township Trustee's Office at 5665 Lafayette Road.
The Indianapolis Department of Public Works says it is still looking for more community recycling places for the northwest and east sides of the city. Property owners interested in hosting a recycling drop-off location are asked to contact Indy's DPW recycling team at sustainindy@indy.gov.
Here's what DPW says is accepted at all of Indy's recycling sites:
- All colors of glass
- No. 1 - No. 7 plastic containers (except Styrofoam or plastic bags)
- Aluminum, tin, and steel beverage and food cans
- Newspapers, broken down cardboard, paper, and magazines
