One dead in hit-and-run crash on Indy's northside

INDIANAPOLIS -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while the road on the city's north side Monday evening. 

Police say the pedestrian was crossing in a poorly lit area of Illinois Street when they were hit. The person was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The victim's has been identified as Brett Leveque, 66. 

Hit and run investigators are looking for a beige or gold colored 2000-2005 Buick LeSabre which should have front-end damage, and possibly damage to the windshield. The passenger-side mirror will also be missing.
