MADISON COUNTY — At least one person is dead after a serious crash Saturday morning in Madison County.
Deputies from the Madison County Sheriff's Office and emergency personnel were called around 11 a.m. to the area of State Road 128 and County Road 200 West on the report of a crash, Madison County Sheriff's Office Operations Cmdr. David Callahan said in an email.
The driver of a 2003 Dodge Ram pick-up truck was seen driving erratically and almost ran a motorcyclist off the road before driving off the side of the road, Callahan said. The truck rolled several times before both the driver and the passenger were thrown from the truck.
The driver, Cynthia Davis, 54, of Anderson, died while being flown to I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis by a medical helicopter, Callahan said. The passenger was later taken to I.U. Health Methodist Hospital by ambulance. Their condition is unknown at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
