INDIANAPOLIS — One person and his two dogs were killed in a multi-vehicle crash Monday evening on Interstate 70 in Indianapolis.
Indianapolis Fire Department crews and emergency personnel were called around 5:50 p.m. to the eastbound lanes of I-70 near German Church Road on the report of a crash, IFD Batallian Chief Rita Reith said in a press release. When they arrived, they found four vehicles involved in the crash.
One man was killed in the crash, Reith said. His name has not been released.
Indiana State Police investigators say traffic was coming to a stop due to a construction zone east of the trash when a semi-truck failed to stop and hit a van driven by the deceased man, ISP Sgt. John Perrine said. The semi-tractor trailer was not exceeding the posted speed limit.
Two other people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital in good condition, Reith said.
