One killed, one injured in rural Tippecanoe County crash

TIPPECANOE COUNTY — One person is dead and one person was injured in a crash Friday night in rural Tippecanoe County.

Tippecanoe County Sheriff's deputies and emergency personnel were called around 10:15 p.m. to the 7600 block of State Road 25, south of West Point, on the report of a single-vehicle crash, according to a press release from the sheriff's office.

When they arrived, they found a vehicle had struck a tree off the roadway, according to the release.

The driver was killed in the crash, according to their release. Their identity has not been released.

A passenger was injured and taken to a hospital in stable condition, according to the release.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash, according to the release.

The crash remains under investigation.
