SPENCER — The Spencer Owen community is honoring a teacher and coach who died
Ryan Wilcoxen, a teacher and coach at Spencer Owen Community Schools, died after he suffered a hemtoma and total brain injury, according to the school district.
"In true Ryan fashion, he will continue to make an impact on the lives of others by becoming an organ donor," the district wrote in a Facebook post. "His everlasting legacy will be saving the lives of many other people."
In honor of Wilcoxen, the district has asked other schools in the area to leave its baseball stadium lights on through Saturday.
