Pacers, volunteers pack up 124,000 meals for the Million Meal Movement

INDIANAPOLIS -- It’s the season of giving and the Indiana Pacers are stepping up to make sure they do their part.

On Monday, the team joined 400 other volunteers at “The Room Place” to pack up tens of thousands of meals for those in need.

Their goal was to assemble 124,000 meals to support the million meal movement.

Those meals will go to Gleaners Food Bank, which will distribute them to those who need it most.

“We’re just happy to be here, excited to be a part of this event. Just to give back to the community. A lot of people don’t know where they’re getting their next meal from, so it’s a great opportunity to come here and back these things up and they know they’ll have food coming for them,” said Pacers Guard Rodney Stuckey.
