INDIANAPOLIS — A person has died after they were hit by a car late Wednesday night while walking on South Harding Street.
The incident happened near the West Hanna Avenue intersection around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department investigators believe the pedestrian was crossing the street, not in a crosswalk, when they were struck by a semi-tractor trailer, IMPD Officer William Young said in an email.
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the on-going investigation, Young said. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash at this time.
Additional information, including the identities of those involved, have not been released.
