INDIANAPOLIS — The ground has been broken on a permanent concert venue to be built on the lawn at White River State Park.
The park has held summer concerts on a removable stage since 2004.
Once it is complete, the new venue will include a permanent stage, lighting, seats, and a seating pad for up to 3,000 people.
There will also be lawn seating for an additional 4,500 people, as well as permanent restrooms and dressing rooms for artists.
Construction is scheduled to be completed in time for next summer's concert season in June 2020.
