Person killed in single-car crash on northeast side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — A person was killed in a crash early Sunday morning on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called around 1 a.m. to the 3500 block of North Mitthoefer Road, near 38th Street, on the report of a single-car crash, IMPD Sgt. Jim Gillespie said in an email.

Police say a person involved in the crash later died, Gillespie said.

A possible cause of the crash or the identity of the victim have not been released.
