LOGANSPORT — "The Junction," formerly known as the Logansport Mall, has signed "Planet Fitness" as one of its first new tenants.
Planet Fitness announced Thursday it will open a 15,000 square feet gym inside the old Sears store.
The gym plans to be open by the first of 2021, according to Planet Fitness.
"We're excited about this location," Alex Baker, co-owner of the new Planet Fitness, said. "What is happening at the former Logansport Mall could be transformative to the town. We can't wait to be part of that."
In February, Logansport Mall was purchased by Park Development. In June, the Chicago real estate developer announced the new name for the former Logansport Mall, the addition of a Walmart Supercenter and Home Depot, and a national hotel group would be moving into the old J.C.Penney site.
Planet Fitness will offer free fitness training, cardio machines, tanning beds, massage chairs, and hydro massage beds. It will be open 24 hours a day Monday through Friday and from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
The Junction's Planet Fitness plans to hire 15 people.
