INDIANAPOLIS -- A doctor was arrested Tuesday morning after police say he tried to break into a house on Indianapolis' north side with a sword.

Officers were called to the 9100 block of Crystal River Drive at around 8 a.m.

Police say Joseph Galdun, 44, broke into the house and the homeowner, Tony Waugh, hit him with a golf club.

"The guy tried to break in, swinging a sword, and I don't know much beyond that except that he's under arrest and hopefully that'll be the end of it," said Waugh.

Waugh had a small cut on his arm and was treated at the scene.

Officials with St. Vincent confirm that Galdun is a doctor with St. Vincent Medical Group in Indianapolis.

He is in the custody of the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Galdun is facing preliminary charges of battery and burglary.
