INDIANAPOLIS -- Two people were arrested Sunday morning after trying to rob an east side gas station, police said.
The attempted robbery happened at the Circle K in the 6700 block of East Washington Street.
According to IMPD, a customer called 911 when they realized something was wrong because the doors to the gas station were locked. Officers surrounded the gas station and requested SWAT because the suspects were armed.
As SWAT arrived, the suspects voluntarily came out of the gas station to surrender, according to IMPD.
The two people arrested were Jason Walker, 33, and Lester Williams, 30. They currently face preliminary charges of robbery and criminal confinement.
Nobody inside the gas station was hurt.
