Prepare for the sold out Monumental Marathon

INDIANAPOLIS — Saturday marks the 12th annual Indianapolis Monumental Marathon, and this year a record number of runners will take over the Circle City. For the first time in the race's history, all races are sold out.

If you are running in the marathon, you need to make sure you have your runners packets; you will not be able to get it the morning of the race.

Organizers suggest getting downtown as early as possible to avoid the rush and road closures.

The significant factor for tomorrow is the temperature, and Rhi Jones says it's important that you dress appropriately.

"Dress to be warm. At the start, wear gloves, wear a hat, wear a scarf, because it's going to warm up," Jones recommended. "As the day goes, you can take those layers off. As you run, all of the clothes that are taken off along the route we donate to the Wheeler Mission. So you may not get them back, but they will go to a good place."
