PUTNAM COUNTY — A 71-year-old woman was killed in a crash involving a semi and a truck in Putnam County Saturday evening.
Deputies who responded to the scene on US40 near the Hendrick's County line say the extremely dense fog made for hazardous road conditions.
Investigators say the pickup truck was turning onto US40 when it collided with the semi. The driver of the truck did not survive. The Putnam County Coroner identified her as Suzanne Anderson.
The crash remains under investigation by Indiana State Police and the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.
This was the second deadly incident in Putnam County on Saturday. Earlier that day, two people were riding ATVs on a lake when they broke through the ice. One of the riders was able to climb out of the water. The second rider, Brett Crowder, 48, did not survive.
