MONTGOMERY COUNTY — A woman died Thursday morning in a three-car crash west of Crawfordsville.
According to a news release from Indiana State Police, Paula A. Martin, 66, Rockville, died after she was transported by helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
The driver of one of the other cars, Albert D. McClain, 74, Waveland, was taken to Eskenazi Hospital with serious injuries, while a third driver, Anna R. Cornelius, 34, New Market, complained of pain but refused treatment.
State police said Martin was driving a 2011 Hyundai Elantra north on State Road 47 when she crossed the center line and struck McClain's 2017 Subaru Forester head-on. Martin's car then hit Cornelius' 2014 Scion TC, which was behind McClain.
State Road 47 was closed for approximately 90 minutes for cleanup and investigation.
