INDIANAPOLIS — Santa has taken to the rails as he visits eight small towns south and west of Indianapolis, Friday and Saturday.
The Indiana Rail Road's annual Santa Train, celebrating its 30th anniversary, departed Indianapolis Friday afternoon en route to its first stop in Bargersville. Then it was on to Morgantown at 6:30 p.m. and Helmsburg at 8:45 p.m.
Here's the Saturday schedule:
8:30 a.m. — Solsberry
11 a.m. — Bloomfield
1:30 p.m. — Linton
4:30 p.m. — Dugger
7:00 p.m. — Jasonville
The train continues its journey Sunday with three stops in Illinois, and a 5 p.m. visit to Sullivan, Indiana.
Santa and his many helpers are visiting with children at each town. It's a popular event each year and lines can be long. The Indiana Rail Road urges families to arrive early.
