Family and friends continued to search Saturday for a young mother who went missing six months ago.

Twenty-four-year-old Jessica Masker was last seen in April, shortly after receiving treatment at a hospital. Masker, who'd recently had a premature baby, had been visiting the infant regularly.

Then, on April 15, Masker disappeared. Police said they don't believe foul play is involved. Masker's family disagrees.

On Saturday, Masker's family and friends met at an eastside park before walking the streets, passing out fliers and hoping to find something that will help solve her disappearance.

"Our family has done everything on our own – making and passing out flyers," said Cheri Edwards, Maskers mother.

Edwards said Maskers, the mother of two young children, had a drug problem and was in a stormy relationship with a man who remains jailed for assaulting her.

Just before she was last seen, Maskers got into a fight with her cousin before leaving the house they were at on the eastside.

Masker's family believes the woman was abducted by someone she knew.

"My sister's never went this long without talking to us, and she would always come home," said Masker's sister Ashley Masker.

Her step-father, Timothy Edwards, says continuing the search is all they can do.

"You have to have closure, and in a way, this is closure, and us just saying that we love you, even if she's not here," Edwards said. "It's our way of saying we love you and we're out here trying."

Masker is 5'2" and weighs 95 lbs. She was last seen wearing a red and black jacket, blue jeans and gray and pink tennis shoes. If you have any information in the case, Masker's family urges you to call IMPD's missing person's unit.
