SHELBY COUNTY — One person died in a crash involving a wrong-way driver early Friday on Interstate 74 in Shelby County.
Shelby County Sheriff's Department Major Chris Holder said the crash occurred around 1:50 a.m. at the 107 mile marker of I-74 when a motorist drove westbound in the eastbound lanes.
Kassandra Jenkins, 23, of Shelbyville, was pronounced dead and a 38-year-old man, of Indianapolis, was transported to Methodist Hospital. Their condition was not released. One person was in each vehicle, Holder said.
The crash remains under investigation and police have not said if alcohol was a factor.
