SPEEDWAY — One person died and another was injured in an crash on busy Crawfordsville Road in Speedway.
It happened just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Speedway police, and was caused by a vehicle going the wrong direction on Crawfordsville Road, west of Lynhurst Drive.
The crash involved a car and SUV, with one person in each vehicle. The injured driver was expected to survive.
Police said one of the vehicles was heading westbound in eastbound lanes in an area where the road is divided by a median.
The crash left significant wreckage and forced authorities to close Crawfordsville in both directions for about three hours.
A third vehicle was damaged by accident debris.
