JOHNSON COUNTY — Two puppies were recovered Thursday and are back with their mother after they were stolen from the Humane Society of Johnson County last weekend.
Duane Burgess of the Johnson County Sheriff's Department said detectives are still working to find the people who took the puppies.
The puppies were stolen around 4 p.m. Saturday when someone entered the building through the outdoor kennel and took the 4-to 5-week-old pit bull puppies.
Shelter staff told deputies that all four puppies were with their mother around 1 p.m. and when another worker checked on them around 3:15 p.m., two of the puppies were missing.
