FRANKLIN—It's been nearly one-year since 37-year-old Chad Kepner of Franklin was killed in an accident on State Road 44 in southwestern Johnson County.
Now, the man who investigators say caused the accident is pleading guilty and will not go on trial.
After the accident last October, 43-year-old Earl Davis of Martinsville was taken to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for a blood draw. The tests showed amphetamine and methamphetamine in Davis' system.
He was charged with Causing Death When Operating While Intoxicated and Operating a Vehicle With a Controlled Substance in Person's Body.
Johnson County court records show Davis is pleading guilty to all charges and will be sentenced November 20.
