ANDERSON — Stephen Davis confessed to police he wanted to kill people, so he dropped two bikes from an overpass onto
I-69 in Madison County.
The 32-year-old Anderson man was arrested and charged with Criminal Recklessness.
According to a probable cause affidavit from the Madison County Prosecutor, Davis called police and admitted to tossing two bikes over the bridge and onto the highway. He said he did it because he wanted to cause a fatal accident. His only regret, he told police, was that he didn't cause a "ten car pile-up" and bodies on the ground.
An officer from the Anderson Police Department went to the interstate and found a mountain bike in the north bound median side lane and the handlebar of another bike nearby. Officer John Vieke said it appeared the second bike had been struck by a vehicle.
The probable cause says Davis stated several times his intent to kill people because he hated everyone. He was upset over what he said was an illegal home eviction.
Davis is scheduled to be in court on January 27.
