MARION — Police in Marion have made an arrest in a child molestation and child pornography case. What's unusual is that the suspect in just 15.
Because of the suspect's age, much of the information surrounding the case is not being released. For now, it's assigned to the juvenile court system in Grant County.
According to Marion Police Department Deputy Chief Stephen Dorsey, the teenager's mother called police when she found inappropriate photographs of a three-year-old girl on her son's cell phone.
"The 15-year-old male and his mother were transported to the Marion Police Department," said Dorsey. "The 15-year-old was interviewed, and based on the interview, the teen was charged with child molestation and child pornography." Both are felonies.
Dorsey said the case remains under investigation by his department and the Indiana Department of Child Services.
