LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Three people were killed in a crash involving a semi and a car in northwest Indiana early Friday morning
The accident happened around 7 a.m. on U.S. 20 near County Road 300 East in Laporte County.
According to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, the car was traveling westbound on U.S. 20 when it collided with a tractor-trailer traveling the opposite direction. All three people in the car were killed. The semi driver was not injured.
Freezing rain and sleet were falling at the time of the accident, but police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
