LAWRENCE COUNTY — The bodies of two Indianapolis men who were swept away in the swift currents of the East Fork of the White River in southern Indiana were found Wednesday.

The drowning victims were identified as 38-year-old Cung Hu and 42-year-old Hrang Mang.

According to the Department of Natural Resources, both were found in the area of Williams Dam, southwest of Bedford and about 80-miles from Indianapolis.

The search for the men began Tuesday morning after witnesses reported seeing two men attempting to wade across the main river channel to an island, before being swept away by the current.

Indiana Conservation Officers used various sonar units, divers, and boats to search the area where the men were last seen before their bodies were found one day later.
