Two people killed in head-on crash in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY — Two people were killed in a head-on crash in Shelby County early Wednesday morning.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department responded to the crash in the 4000 block of North SR 9 just outside Shelbyville around 5 a.m.

Major Chris Holder with the sheriff's department says it appears an SUV and pickup truck collided head-on in that location. Two people in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. They were identified as Steven Conrad Sr., 58, and Steven Conrad Jr., 39.

The 26-year-old driver of the pick-up truck was taken to the hospital, their condition is not known at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.
