BLOOMINGTON—It didn't take long to get about 125 downtown Bloomington parking meters working again.
Vandalism to the meters was discovered Wednesday morning, but repairs have been made and the meters are back in operation, according to a public information officer with the Bloomington Police Department.
Police Captain Ryan Pedigo says the meters were covered with green and pink spray paint and coin slots were filled with expanding foam. Damage was estimated at $5,000.
The 125 meters included all 77 on the courthouse square.
Police are looking at surveillance video from downtown businesses in an effort to find those responsible for the vandalism, but so far, no arrests.
