NASHVILLE — The date has been set and the performer announced for the opening concert of the Brown County Music Center in Nashville — and it's a big name.

Vince Gill is the headliner for the August 24 show and tickets go on sale Friday, April 19.

Seven other shows between September and December have also been announced, including: Clint Black, Tesla, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, and for the kids, Peppa Pig Live!

The Music Center is opening ten years after fire destroyed the Little Nashville Opry, which brought some of the biggest names in country music to Brown County for years.

The new facility, which has been under construction since last summer, won't limit itself to country music.

"From rock, blues, and oldies to country, jazz, bluegrass, and even pop, performances at the Brown County Music Center will run the gamut, stretching across all musical styles and will appeal to a wide audience," according to the Brown County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The music center will seat 2,000 and is located off State Road 46, just east of downtown Nashville.
